On September 13th, Vienna will transform into the public transport capital of the world. The finest tram drivers from 25 nations will showcase their skills at this premier event. Alongside the competitions, we will celebrate our beloved 'Öffis' at Rathausplatz with exhibitions, interactive stations, and a vibrant program for the whole family. Admission is free!

Did you know that..

Did you know that Vienna boasts the sixth largest tram network in the world? It all began 160 years ago with the first horse-drawn tram. Today, the network features over 1,100 stops and nearly 500 trams operating daily across 28 lines. Annually, more than 270 million passengers use the 'Bim,' covering approximately 63,000 kilometers—equivalent to one and a half times around the globe.

Sporting Spectacle

The Tram World Cup highlights the demanding nature of tram driving and celebrates drivers as everyday heroes. Participants will have the chance to demonstrate their skills and abilities in various competitions, while also networking with colleagues from around the globe. Those interested in a career with Wiener Linien can learn more directly on site.

Fans can not only enjoy the sporting competitions at Vienna's Rathausplatz but also get an up-close experience of Vienna's public transport system.
